This radio-controlled model assembly kit recreates the Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16valve. The kit is based on the beginner-friendly and highly customizable BT-01 chassis, which allows hobbyists to grow as their driving and building skills develop. Like the full-size car it depicts, the chassis configuration on the MB-01 chassis is set up in the front motor, front drive configuration for unparalleled realism.

About the Golf II 16V
The FF drivetrain Golf is one of Volkswagen’s most iconic cars. From its first appearance in 1974, Volkswagen Golf continued to develop and lead the worldwide compact car class. In 1986, the Golf II GTI 16V was added to the second-generation model Golf II line up which had made its debut in 1983. With a 1,781cc inline-4 DOHC 16-valve engine, a tuned car took part in global rally races, and in the U.S. became a fan favourite hatchback of the 1980s era.

The MB-01 Chassis
The compact, 2WD MB-01 chassis gives a choice of three types of wheelbases, and a front- or rear- wheel drive system. Without removing battery pack, motor, and R/C equipment setups from the centre frame, simply change attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front- and rear-wheel drive; low or high motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Unitized sections such as motor mount, final gears and suspension facilitate ease of assembly and effective maintenance.

About the Porsche
The full-size Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) is a car which was developed to conform to GT3 race regulations. It is used by customer teams around the world that compete globally in races such as the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS and the SRO Motorsports Group in Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. The harmonious shape of the 911 emphasizes its heritage while combining it with sophisticated new efficiency. Functionality is paramount too! The body is made of particularly lightweight carbon to reduce vehicle weight. The result: increased agility and precision unparalleled throughout GT racing. The perfect starting point for success on the racetrack. The TT-02 Chassis
Adaptable TT-02 Chassis offers balanced shaft driven 4WD:
The shaft driven 4WD TT-02 chassis employs a longitudinal layout with the battery on the left and the motor on the right, to offer excellent stability. In addition, it features identical left and right suspension arms and uprights for ease of assembly, plus easy-to-maintain gearboxes. It is a highly adaptable chassis, as it offers 2 different wheelbases, 2 ground clearance settings and 2 tread set-ups in addition to a range of 10 possible gear ratios. It is not short on looks either, with brake disc-shaped wheel hubs and stylish front bumper supports. Mesh-type wheels are paired with racing slick tyres.

About The Audi
The Audi 90 Quattro Racing flourished at American races in 1989. With a 2.2-litre inline-5 turbo engine capable of over 700hp, the 4WD Quattro system gave it superior traction. Wider than the road car, its body had a large rear wing, and carbon and aluminium were largely used for its lightweight panels.

About the Toyota Celica GT-FOUR
Toyota developed this high-spec version of the sixth generation Celica with the aim of repeating in 1994 their global rally championship of the previous year. It possessed curved, aerodynamic body lines, a distinctive front with four headlights of different sizes, and a 2 litre 4 cylinder DOHC turbo engine capable of 255hp. The 4WD system utilized a centre viscous coupling and a Torsen differential at the rear for superior traction. Also, 2,100 Japanese models featuring an arched rear spoiler were produced to the acclaim of Celica fans.

The 2WD BT-01 chassis – which offers choices of FF/MR/FR drive system – welcomes another R/C kit; this time, a short wheelbase, midship rear motor / rear wheel drive (MR) setup with the body which recreates the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8. The Porsche Carrera RS 2.7 is a legend of the Porsche 911 series. Developed to join European GT races in 1973, it employed a 2,687cc horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine capable of 210hp, a lightweight body with improved aerodynamics, and wide rear tires. The Carrera RSR 2.8 racing version increased displacement to 2,808cc and output to over 300hp; in 1973, it was a European GT race champion and took numerous global victories

The form of the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 is realistically recreated in lightweight polycarbonate. Tamiya welcomes another release on our popular TT-02 chassis; this time, the 1998 Honda NSX Racing! The NSX - a midship engine sports car released in 1990 – achieved success in races all over the world and also took part in Japanese GT car races from 1996. The 1998 version employed a 3.5-liter V6 engine, and featured improved aerodynamics, low centre of gravity, improved brake system and easier maintenance. Four cars were raced that year and achieved five victories.

Tamiya welcomes a re-released and updated version of the 4WD buggy Hotshot II, the original of which was first released in 1987, following Tamiya’s first 4WD buggy Item 58047 Hotshot released in 1985 and Item 58054  Supershot released in 1986.

The Hotshot II was a lightweight design thanks to its use of plastic parts.

This Tamiya R/C car kit recreates the Motul Autech Z! The Motul Autech Z is raced by the NISMO team in the 2023 Super GT series. Although it inherits elements of the NISSAN Z road car design, it is different, with a carbon fibre body and a front 550hp-plus 2-litre 4-cylinder single turbo engine. It got off to a great start, winning the opening race of 2023 in Okayama.

This R/C assembly kit recreates the Citroën DS which made its debut in 1955 and caught people’s attention with its innovative structure and style. Over 1,450,000 were sold up to 1975, and it became one of the better-known cars of the 20th century. This car was used as the official car for the President of France and achieved the overall championship in 1966 global rallies. The version recreated in this assembly kit recreates the early-period model featuring two rounded headlights. The polycarbonate body sits on top of the MB-01 chassis configured in the long wheelbase and front motor / front-wheel drive (FF) configuration.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Club Racer makes an appearance on the new and versatile MB-01 chassis platform. This time around the MB-01 is configured to be the middle wheelbase with midship rear motor/rear wheel drive (MR) specification. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA was developed as the lightweight, tuned race version of the 2-door coupe Giulia Sprint GT and released in 1965. 500 units were produced and in the late 1960s the works car became class champion several times in the European Touring Car Championship; also run by other racing teams, it caught a lot of attention at the racetrack!

The Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR R/C car kit first made its appearance in the Tamiya product catalogue in 1998 on the popular TA-03R chassis platform then later the easy to assemble TT-01E platform. The CLK-GTR has made a return this time on our high-performance TC-01 chassis platform, which is destined to provide the most performance yet as it takes advantage of the Mercedes sleek body profile and the low centre of gravity of the TC-01!

TC-01: Seriously Low-Profile
This durable composite monocoque-frame chassis provides shaft driven 4WD from a central motor via front and rear propeller shafts, with oil filled gear differentials. 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension employs long arms, plus inboard setups front and rear with oil shock-dampers actuated by push rods and rocker arms to allow the use of low-profile bodies. Adjust spacer width to easily alter camber, skid, and toe angle settings. Both suspension arms and uprights are identical left, right, front and rear, for more efficient maintenance and pit work.

Tamiya is delighted to announce the appearance of another classic racing car on our popular TT-02 chassis, this time the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC (ST185).

The Toyota Celica GT-Four RC was developed as a homologation car to take part in global rally races, and in 1992, 5,000 units were sold around the world. With its curved, powerful body, this car employed a 2-liter turbo engine with metal turbines and water-based intercooler system, which was capable of 235ps.

The 4WD system utilized a centre viscous coupling and a Torsen differential at the rear for superior controllability and traction. In 1993 global rally races, the Celica GT-Four (ST185) brought both Manufacturer’s and Driver’s Championships to Toyota for the first time.

Here is another R/C kit with the MB-01 chassis – this time, long wheelbase and midship rear motor / rear wheel drive (MR). The Opel Kadett GT/E released in 1975 was a high-spec version of the Opel Kadett, a car which enjoyed great popularity in Europe in the 1970s. The GT/E had a 2-door coupe body, a high-spec 1.9 litre engine and reinforced suspension; the works Opel Eurohändler team, satellite teams and privateers took part in rally races with modified versions of this car, and in 1976 it secured second place in the manufacturer’s championship in global rally races.

This 1/10 scale R/C assembly kit recreates the Mitsubishi Pajero on the CW-01 chassis. After the announcement of its concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1973, the Mitsubishi Pajero was one of the most recognizable Mitsubishi 4WD cars, sold from 1982 to 2021 through a fourth model change. At the 1983 Paris-Dakar Rally, this car took a championship in an unmodified production vehicle division, and after that, showed off its great performance around the world. This kit recreates the first-generation model which was produced from 1982 to 1990. Based upon Item 58499 1/10 R/C Mitsubishi Montero Wheelie, tyres are changed from massive 115mm big ones to rock block ones, and the kit features the CVA II short oil dampers.

2WD Chassis
The durable and easy-to-assemble 2WD chassis employs a box type frame and features front independent swingarms and a rear rolling rigid suspension. A sealed gearbox protects the diff gear from dirt and sand during off-road driving.

This R/C model assembly kit recreates the rally oriented 2003 Ford Focus RS Custom on the easy to assemble and drive TT-02 chassis. In 2003, the Ford Motor Co. Team chief engineer Christian Loriaux made various changes to the Focus such as seat position, roll cage and suspension, and improved aerodynamics with the updated bumper shape, hood intake position and large rear wing and more. The 2-liter inline-4 turbo engine was capable of 300PS and 550Nm. This rally car secured second place in the Manufacturer ranking four times during its 7-year race campaign and showed off its strength. This kit recreates a custom street version without sponsor logos.

The origin of M-chassis series history goes back to December 1994, and this series has been popular due to cost-effective kits with a wide choice of bodies, ease of maintenance and control for any level user. Enter, the all-new MB-01!

The new MB-01 chassis continues that tradition and allows six setups by choosing from three types of wheelbases, and front- or rear- wheel drive system. This is a radio control assembly kit of the Toyota GAZOO Racing WRT/GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid that began competing in 2022 in compliance with Rally 1 restrictions. The combination of hybrid unit integrated with motor and generator and engine is capable of over 500PS and 500Nm, while the car also features regenerative charging during brake function. A 1.6-litre inline 4-cylinder direct injection turbo engine uses non-fossil fuel. In addition to side skirts and large rear wing, air ducts are equipped right and left at the rear to cool down the hybrid unit. In 2022, it achieved both Manufacturer’s and Driver’s Championships.

The 1980’s was the decade of the hot hatch back in automotive circles! One of the many automakers that made hatchbacks popular was Volkswagen, and their MK2 GTI 16V was a favourite among automotive fans. Tamiya has faithfully recreated the MK2 GTI as a rally race car as seen in A7 class competition. The body is based on the MF-01 chassis as it’s at home on both asphalt and flat dirt running!

This R/C kit recreates the Alpine A110 with an orange Jägermeister livery on top of the proven and fun-to-drive M-06 chassis. The Alpine A110 was a French compact coupe featuring a lightweight FRP body based upon a steel backbone, rear-wheel drive chassis with the rear-mounted inline-4 engine positioned longitudinally. Production continued from its debut year 1963 until 1977, and the A110 attained fame after victory in the 1971 rally in Monte Carlo. In 1973, this car became the first World Rally champion and its Jägermeister orange livery version achieved a class victory in German circuit races.

Great RR Performance from the M-06
The M-06 chassis features a rear-mounted motor, rear-drive setup and has a longitudinally-mounted battery pack, with R/C equipment positioned on either side for optimum balance and a low centre of gravity. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension uses dish design wheels, equipped with 60D radial tires at the front and 60D super radial (hard) tires at the rear. In addition, a 3-piece steering linkage offers nimble handling response.
