Axial SCX24 Base Camp 4WD RC Rock Crawler RTR Overview

Unlike other low-cost micro RC crawlers, the fully equipped, ready-to-run Axial SCX24 Base Camp doesn't cut the price by compromising performance. Instead, it packs plenty of trail-proven engineering into its 1/24 scale size, including a steel chassis and ball bearings - plus a Spektrum radio, charger, and LiPo battery for reliable power and precise control. And it's still the best value available in a micro rock crawler!

That makes the SCX24 Base Camp a great starting point for RC newcomers who need an affordable first vehicle. But it's also much more than that. Are you an experienced RC driver who'd like to give crawling a try without breaking the bank? Here's your rig. Need a solid but economical platform that you can build up into your "dream" micro rock crawler? This is it. Axial offers a ton of upgrade parts that you can add to raise performance to whatever heights you want to reach.

The Axial SCX24 Base Camp is equally at home maneuvering over challenging indoor obstacles and scenic outdoor trails. It's ready to take on any terrain that other Axial SCX24 micro rigs can, whether you're crawling across your desk, through the living room, or over a backyard trail built from a few holes, rocks, and twigs. With the SCX24 Base Camp, almost any location can become the scene for a rock crawling adventure. With water-resistant electronics, the SCX24 platform is ready for adventure indoors or out.

Full-time 4WD and a 3-link front/4-link rear suspension let you confidently muscle this micro crawler over rough, risk-filled trails. Worm gears on the axles increase the ground clearance. Realistic steel frame rails on the C-channel chassis stand up to hard knocks. The proven SCX24 suspension tackles bumps, rocks, and stays stable over tough terrain. Topping it all off is a durable, factory-finished body with contemporary truck styling.

One of the most successful micro platforms of all time, the Axial SCX24 is also one of the best values in the RC crawling hobby. Inside the box, along with the assembled and finished rig, you'll find a Spektrum SLT2 2.4GHz transmitter, 350mAh LiPo battery, and handy USB charger. Even the AA transmitter batteries are included. For big adventures in micro RC crawling - at a small price - come to the SCX24 Base Camp!

STYLISH BASE CAMP TRUCK BODY

Factory-painted and detailed, the durable polycarbonate Base Camp body offers exciting, contemporary scale truck looks. Officially licensed, high clearance Demello off-road bumpers add to the realism.

WORM GEARS

The front and rear differentials each house a worm screw and worm gear setup to get the power to the axles and create higher ground clearance. You can take the SCX24 Base Camp into rough terrain with confidence.

STEEL C-CHANNEL CHASSIS FRAME RAILS

Like the larger SCX10 platform, the 1/24 scale SCX24 chassis features rugged steel C-channel frame rails with bracing to keep everything intact and aligned.

FRONT AND REAR SOLID AXLE HOUSINGS

The front and rear axles consist of a two-piece, moulded composite solid axle design. For optimal handling, the SCX24 suspension features a 3-link front and 4-link rear setup.

DURABLE STEEL AXLES

Steel front and rear axles, front stub axles, and dogbones provide the durability needed to keep the SCX24 Base Camp going during tough climbs and over rough trails.

4-LINK REAR SUSPENSION

The rear suspension geometry uses a 4-link design which is optimized to reduce axle steer and torque twist.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED WHEELS & TYRES

Officially licensed Falken Wildpeak M/T compound tyres increase ground clearance over rough surfaces and improve the grip on slippery trails. They're mounted on officially licensed Black Rhino one-piece wheels for added scale looks.

SPLINED DRIVE SHAFTS

The front and rear drive shafts are splined and sleeved to allow for maximum suspension travel while keeping the power to the wheels.

DYNAMITE BRUSHED MOTOR

The included Dynamite 88T 030-size brushed electric motor provides the right amount of torque for making steep climbs. It's mated to a stamped aluminum motor mount to keep flex to a minimum and help protect the gears.

SPEKTRUM SLT2 2.4GHz RADIO SYSTEM

The Spektrum SLT2 2-channel radio system offers high-end features such as throttle/steering travel adjust and throttle limiting. The ready-to-run package is so complete, even AA transmitter batteries are included.

FULL BALL BEARINGS

It may be small, but the SCX24 Base Camp makes no compromises in features. There are no bushings here. The drivetrain spins freely on sealed cartridge bearings throughout the entyre vehicle.
