A staple in the JConcepts product line, the Punisher body shell design, started its time in the off-road division during the 2010 racing season. Over the course of a decade, the design team along with the racers have helped push the envelope and re-invent the Punisher along the way. The P2 design arrived just in time for the IFMAR Worlds in 2017 where the team tested and confirmed performance characteristics on the Xiamen, China track surface. The ultra-competitive body underwent new changes for the 2025 IFMAR Worlds to arrive ready to tackle the track in Castle Hills, Australia.

P2X is designed for additional rear downforce and developed with our professional racing team to have better rear grip, more balance, and a new ace for outdoor track conditions. P2X dominated the competition in Castle Hills, and provided a stamp of authority by taking TQ, 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd overall in the 2wd class. Broc Champlin secured the victory for the JConcepts race team with quickness, racing savvy, and ultimately a vehicle which handled the conditions better than the competition.

The versatility of the P2X, providing grip when its needed, dimensional stability at the right time, and a tuning aid together with front and rear wing options available separately from JConcepts remain a dominating 2wd buggy aero package. The P2X arrives with the class leading #0197 wing which has shown incredible performance on Carpet | Turf | Dirt since its development. For racers wanting to add additional rear stability, the #0531 7” Illuzion monster rear wing is available separately, as used at the world championships.

The channeling concept of the P2X body begins in the front with a forward based windshield which now has curvature to ease some of front-end force of the body for an easier to drive vehicle. The continuation of the design flows over the cockpit, digs deep into the rear section where it re-appears to a new and wider double winglet placed just in front of the rear tires in the horizontal plane. The identifiable feature which debuted in 2010, the center fin is slightly taller on this world championship winning shell design and runs most of the complete length from cab to the rear shocks.

The dual windows of the P2X gives a hint of JConcepts lineage dating back to the original Illuzion body. The side pods are heavily chamfered, made popular with original #gojconcepts designed body shells going back as far as the early 2000’s. In front of the windshield, a deflection shield begins air flow in the front-end lining up with front shock tower geometry. The high-performance item has protection and surrounds the spur gear guard like a glove.

The championship winning item includes two of the 6.5” Carpet | Turf | Dirt wing which is now a standard racing item around the world. The body includes all trim and window lines scribed on the body and masks to quickly cover the inside of the windows for user generated painting technique. Aerodynamics is a key point on any vehicle and 1:10th off-road vehicles. A driver’s aero package consists of the vehicle type, body style and finally the finishing touch, the front wing. JConcepts regularly experiments with aero features throughout the entire product line, primarily bodies and wings. Front wings are not a new concept; however, they are new to the latest generation of 4wd off-road buggies such as the Schumacher Cat PB.

JConcepts, together with their pro racing team of drivers, developed an additional high-performance, lower front wing. The lower front wing mounts in a more forward position and is quite easy to trim, use and test without sacrificing all important track time. A radical, edgy design which functions and compliments the Punisher, Finnisher, Silencer, and S15 body design includes elements and features fresh for the latest off-road conditions.

JConcepts is Titanium with the introduction of the 3.5mm Fin turnbuckle sets designed specifically for style, durability, and performance. The base of the design is centered around a .143” (3.7mm) titanium hex size which gradually tapers down into a 3.5mm thread base design which accepts the Schumacher ball-cup after modification*. The focus of the styling surrounds the lengthened adjustment hex area and the “finned” cuts that rotate about the center. The Fin turnbuckles are lightweight, and the original design brings out the glamour and quality that makes titanium one of the most sought-after exotic materials in the world. The JConcepts turnbuckles are produced with left- and right-hand threads with the left being conveniently marked for easy orientation.

Several items indicate a JConcepts equipped vehicle, the Fin turnbuckles are one of those items. Often sampled by the rest of the industry, the JConcepts item is the original, featuring the revolved cuts and delicate machine work. Used by the JConcepts race team including World Champion Spencer Rivkin, ROAR National Champion Dakotah Phend, World Champion Michal Orlowski, and legendary World Champion Ryan Maifield, the Fin turnbuckles are the choice for performance racing applications.

JConcepts turnbuckle adjustment wrench is offered separately as part # 2234. The burnt blue turnbuckles have intentional sporadic coloring ranging all around the blue spectrum. In order for these turnbuckles to be used properly on the Schumacher ball-cups, its necessary to carefully drill out the plastic parts using a 3.2mm drill bit (not included).
