GT12 racing has become more complex over recent times with a myriad of different foam compounds to find the ultimate performance.  Now Contact RC are taking it back to basics which made GT12 racing so successful.  

These new control tyres with an easily identifiable green stripe can be adopted at local clubs and larger events to have a more level playing field for all, and keep costs down.  

The control tyres are available in only one compound, 40 shore Front trued to 44mm and 37 shore rear trued to 46mm, selected to give the perfect balance for the majority of conditions.

• Asphalt Speciality: Japanese foam ("Jap") is generally designed for outdoor asphalt tracks. It is described as being "tough as nails," offering excellent wear characteristics (sometimes described as wearing "like iron").
• Performance: These tyres are known to provide solid grip, but rather than wearing down in small chunks like some other foams, they tend to melt and become very sticky under high heat, which can be advantageous for keeping grip in long races.
• Density & Feel: They are typically denser than some American-made foams. While they are a great choice for asphalt, they are generally not recommended for carpet, as the high friction can cause them to pick up too much debris and lose performance.

After months of tests on several different tracks including 2 weeks of testing in Thailand on the circuit which will host the 1/10th World Championship, we are pleased to announce a new double compound front tyre.

With excellent feedback from multiple World and European Championship winners Robert Pietsch, Dario Balestri and Andy Moore we can conclude that these new tyres give more steering on all the tracks and in varying conditions.

The tyres also help to avoid traction rolling problems which can occur on high grip tracks or finals where larger tyres are used.
