Legendary hybrid 1/12 racer with 4WD & 3P suspension
Arrives as a kit after more than 30 years!
In the 1980s, 1/12 scale electric on-road racing was defined by fierce competition between 4WD models with ladder chains and agile 2WD cars with 3-point (3P) suspension. Kyosho’s Phantom EP-4WD dominated on both temporary parking-lot tracks and permanent asphalt circuits, while the rear 2WD Plazma series leveraged its lightweight design and simple drivetrain to excel where battery efficiency was key.
From this competitive era emerged a hybrid — the Plazma Phantom — which combined the Plazma’s main chassis and rear suspension with the Phantom’s drivetrain. Piloted by Kyosho works drivers, it blended 4WD traction with 3P suspension adaptability to deliver outstanding race results. But no kit was ever sold, leaving enthusiasts to build conversions from individual parts. Now, decades later, the wait is over. The Phantom PZF T-33 brings the Plazma Phantom to market as a kit for the first time. More than just a parts combination, the Phantom PZF T-33 features newly developed components for performance beyond what was possible in the ’80s. The quick-handling T-33 body also returns, expanding the body lineup. Compared to building a Plazma Phantom from separate re-releases, the Phantom PZF delivers better cost efficiency and puts a true works-spec machine within reach. Now enhanced with modern refinements for even greater performance!
- Kyosho Vintage Series No.19 is the first full-kit release of the special 4WD Plazma + Phantom model that was popular in the late 1980s.
- Ladder-chain 4WD delivers high-level traction even on low-grip surfaces.
- Includes reproduction of the T33 body, renowned for its sharp handling. Body is also compatible with existing Phantom & Plazma series.
- High-rigidity carbon main chassis and upper plate are paired with an FRP rear A-bar with optimal flex for enhanced tire grip.
- Newly developed rear A-bar joints with ball-connect design.
- 1.5 mm thick spacers for the front axle mount allow adjustable ride height.
- Kingpin coil-type front suspension absorbs vibrations from surface gaps for optimal front tire traction.
- Tires come pre-mounted and trued on black wheels, eliminating the need for tire-setting.
- Dial-adjustable oil shock allow easy spring tension adjustments.
- Unassembled kit includes pre-mounted front and rear tires and an unpainted body.
This special edition pairs a ladder-chain 4WD system with A-arm suspension, delivering supple movement that maximizes rear-tire traction. Never offered as a kit in the 1980s, it is now available at last in response to long-standing fan demand.
This faithful reproduction of the T-33 body from the first Plazma model released in 1985 delivers strong front downforce for quick, responsive handling and excellent straight-line stability. Includes decals that recreate the original package colors from that era.
Kingpin coil suspension, with springs mounted above the front knuckle arms as seen on the Phantom EP-4WD Ext, enhances cornering precision and boosts traction when powering out of turns.
Dedicated servo plate, designed specifically for this model, is isolated from the main chassis to prevent steering influence from chassis flex. This layout also optimizes Ackermann geometry for sharper, more consistent control.
Proven ladder-chain system drives the front tires, with tension adjustable by changing the rear axle adapter and link count. The main chassis is precision-milled to eliminate chain interference.
The Plazma MKⅢ Limited features an FRP A-bar that allows rear suspension adjustment to suit a variety of surfaces.
Newly developed metal ball-connect system pairs ball joints with a 7075 duralumin plate to deliver smooth suspension movement. O-rings are added on both sides for roll control, enabling a wide range of setup options.
Carbon fiber main chassis, based on the reproduced Plazma MK.3 Limited, is optimized for chain drive. Precision milling minimizes chain interference, while a relocated servo mount balances moderate flex with high rigidity for improved cornering performance.
Includes previously optional ball differential as standard. Its LSD-like effect delivers stable traction, with adjustable tension via the nut. Matching the Plazma MK.3 Limited reproduction, it uses a lightweight, high-rigidity 6 mm carbon shaft.
Previously optional dial-adjustable rear damper is now standard, allowing for quick and easy setup changes.

The Javelin’s design concept was to create “A machine that redefines what it means to be the best”. After more than 30 years since the original release in 1986, this electric off-road competition model has been recreated as the sixth model in the Kyosho Vintage Series. Incorporating a resin pipe-frame body resembling the innovative aluminum pipe frame body of the 1/8 scale Land Jump engine powered buggy, the new Javelin features the proven performance of double wishbone suspension with a narrow backbone-style skid frame that delivers ideal geometry for wide-angled steering. This combines with the Javelin’s superior sealed compartment 4WD chain-drive system to produce excellent performance and durability. At the heart of the external features that faithfully represent the image of the Javelin of 30 years ago, this Vintage Series version is packed with modern racing performance potential and is compatible with modern power sources. At the heart of the drive system is a counter gear equipped with slipper function and a final gear case made from metal to strengthen its load bearing capacity. The adoption of precision 48-pitch gear modules reduces power loss and the optimal combination of nylon and sintered alloy delivers both improved drive efficiency and reduced noise. In addition to chain drive, the drive system can also be changed to a belt system, which was optional in the original model. Also, the large diameter aluminum shocks, recreated in the original design, combine with long stroke suspension to deliver increased performance potential. Rediscover the joy of off-road buggy racing with the latest in racing technology and the nostalgic style of the ‘Javelin’.

The pedestal parts have been included with insert nuts to keep the wing securely fixed. Incorporation of insert nuts into the pedestals delivers even more secure mounting. - Just like the original Javelin, white, pastel green and fluorescent yellow colored roll cage bodies and wings are available. Red and black colors are on plan. - The aluminum plate on the front area of the roll cage body is now securely fixed with screws adding rigidity to the body. - Simple yet high rigidity aluminum backbone type chassis. - Two types of drive system can be selected. The 4WD chain system with sealed compartment that took the world by storm, or the 4WD belt system that was later released as an option. - FRP radio plate is suitable for ESC’s of any brand. - One-piece wheels replicate the original stylish design while delivering a reduction in weight. - Full ball bearing specifications use 18 ball bearings. (chain drive system uses 16). - hex heads ensure easy use and fastening security. - Includes separate helmet and polycarbonate body. - Hook and loop fastener battery stay (including battery straps printed with Kyosho logo) is compatible with various batteries and allows easy installation and removal. - Equipped with metallic counter gear.
