This R/C assembly kit recreates a fun and boxy classic VAN with over-sized monster truck tyres. It is one of Tamiya's classic creations from the 1980s (first released in 1987). It has been a fan favourite for its original appearance as much as for its R/C performance. The boxy minivan body has been raised up over monster truck wheels to ensure that this R/C van will grab attention wherever you choose to drive it.

After the release of Item 58725 1/10 R/C Squash Van (GF-02) in 2023, we welcome the second new model paired with the gear-driven 4WD GF-02 chassis. While the Squash Van is a retro, actual-car-like model inspired by 1950s American panel vans, this Quirkhopper's concept is a slim, insect-like buggy body. The word "quirk" means something strange, unique and unexpected. Enjoy off-road performance and customisation of this kit as you like!

About the GF-02 chassis 
The gear-driven 4WD GF-02 chassis features its motor in a low, central position in the lightweight, durable monocoque frame, and transmits power to front and rear via gears. The long wheelbase and wide tread setup ensures stable off-road performance. The slim frame features ladder/pipe motifs and features integrated sealed gearboxes which help keep stones out. Front and rear gear differentials allow smooth cornering, while separately sold pinion gears offer a choice from three types of gear ratios, and a motor guard enhances reliability off-road. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension employs four friction dampers, and the steering servo is positioned on the left with identical-length tie-rods.

The 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 (originally depicted in Item 58657 on the CC-01 chassis) makes its way to the CC-02 chassis! The Defender 90 is a legendary Land Rover off-road car, and its roots go back to 1948. Based on differences in wheelbases, this car has three types – the Defender 90/110/130. This R/C model depicts a 3-door model with 93-inch wheelbase.

CC-02 Chassis - Off Road, Evolved
Designed for a wide range of off-road scenes including rocky terrain, the CC-02 chassis' ladder frame is inspired by full-size vehicles and is the base for its superior durability. A 4WD setup employs the motor longitudinally behind the front axle with separated gearbox and transfer case, and propeller shafts transmitting power to the differential gears front and rear. Four-link rigid suspension is employed front and rear, with CVA oil dampers for all-encompassing control, even on tricky rock sections. This model comes with black wheels and grippy block pattern tyres.

Tamiya is delighted to announce the release of the Ford Baja Bronco as our new R/C model on the cross country CC-02 chassis. The first generation Ford Bronco was relatively compact and extremely capable off-road, and this 4WD car joined numerous races.

The Baja Bronco was sold from 1971 to 1975 to commemorate victory in a major desert race. It had a white and red body with blue roof and black hood plus reinforced sections such as suspension, and this special Bronco enjoys great popularity even in the modern day.

Combining a 1950s style pick-up truck body with massive monster truck tyres, the popular Midnight Pumpkin is now available with a metallic body for even more eye-catching R/C action. The super-detailed body is made with the same technology as Tamiya's high-quality plastic model kits for the most realistic look possible. Metal plated wheels and damper cylinders further enhance this truck's custom look.

The simple and tough chassis features a rear-mounted motor for realistic rear-wheel drive and a strong box frame. The Toyota Land Cruiser 40 has been a staple subject for Tamiya since 2008. It first appeared on the CR-01 crawler chassis then later the simpler CC-01 cross country chassis. Now, the classic Land Cruiser makes its way on to Tamiya’s newest cross-country platform, CC-02 with a few detail tweaks for the scale enthusiast!

This is a re-release version of the 1/12 scale R/C XR311, Tamiya's first R/C model with a suspension system, which was originally released in 1977. While maintaining the basic layout of the original, this re-release version incorporates modern improvements. The injection-moulded body captures the vehicle's purposeful look. Interior parts and a driver figure are included for even greater realism.

Refined Chassis Details
The 2WD duralumin chassis frame features a rear-mounted motor rear-wheel drive layout. The battery is positioned down the centre of the chassis, with the receiver and ESC on either side for exceptional balance. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features upper and lower H-arms and adjustable metal torsion bar springs. Customizable Scale Realism
The Tundra is a full-size pick-up truck made by Toyota for the North American market. In 2007, the Tundra underwent a model change, and this is a 1/10 R/C assembly kit of the double cab version of this second generation Tundra. The model features a ladder frame chassis just like the actual truck, and is also equipped with a 3-speed transmission and shaft-driven 4WD system. Many metal parts such as the ladder frame, leaf springs, and friction dampers provide a unique assembly experience while the injection-molded body shell and large diameter tires accurately reproduce the high-lift's imposing appearance. The Subaru Brat was made solely for export, and achieved tremendous popularity in the U.S. market in the 1970s. Tamiya first produced an R/C version of this popular little truck back in 1983, and is now proud to present an updated, improved re-release of this classic R/C truck. Aside from the upgraded internal parts, this assembly kit comes with a driver figure for a nostalgic feel. About the Toyota Hilux Pick-Up
The 3rd generation Toyota Hilux Pick-up (30/40 Series) debuted in 1978 and the RN36 model was developed specifically for export markets. It featured a sporty, lightweight body and was powered by a 98hp 1,968cc 4-cylinder gasoline engine. Furthermore, its live axle suspension featured front leaf spring shackles located towards the rear to provide sufficient approach/departure angles for superb off-road performance. Front/rear flared fenders and large tyres gave the truck a tall, aggressive stance. The RN36 model was mainly exported to North America but was also later sold in Japan, and there are still many fans of this pick-up to this day.

This 1/10 scale R/C assembly kit recreates the Mitsubishi Pajero on the CW-01 chassis. After the announcement of its concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1973, the Mitsubishi Pajero was one of the most recognizable Mitsubishi 4WD cars, sold from 1982 to 2021 through a fourth model change. At the 1983 Paris-Dakar Rally, this car took a championship in an unmodified production vehicle division, and after that, showed off its great performance around the world. This kit recreates the first-generation model which was produced from 1982 to 1990. Based upon Item 58499 1/10 R/C Mitsubishi Montero Wheelie, tyres are changed from massive 115mm big ones to rock block ones, and the kit features the CVA II short oil dampers.

Here comes the re-issue of the Ford F-150 Ranger XLT which was originally released as a 1/10 R/C kit in 1981. The 1980 Ford F-150 Ranger was released as the first model of the seventh-generation model of the F series, and it featured angular design and robust ladder frame. The car prioritised both lightweight and durable design, and had a powerful image typical of American pickup trucks. The Ranger grade is positioned as the advanced specification and had extensive outside features such as 2-tone painting and chrome trim. As the option, Free Wheelin' Package added unique characteristics such as stripes and special colour scheme. Inheriting the existing body, the kit features newly-moulded side mirrors, wipers, headlights (separately sold LED lights can be attached.), front section including front grille and bumper guards, plus front "stealth" body mount (eliminated front body mount holes) for a more realistic look.

It features a realistic customised Beetle body depicted in tough polystyrene resin, with metal-plated parts supplied in the kit to add the finishing touch for handles and headlight frames. The classic Tamiya Monster Beetle is an iconic R/C kit. This version takes the classic body, shrinks it to a smaller scale, and mounts it on a variant GF-01 chassis called the GF-01TR!

The GF-01TR fits the gear-driven GF-01 chassis with reduction gears (also known as portal axles). This modification allows the hobbyist to better transverse trail terrain as it lifts the bottom of the chassis to better clear obstacles that could high center the vehicle and render it stuck.

GF-01TR Chassis:
This gear-driven 4WD chassis is based around a lightweight and tough monocoque frame, with power provided by the centrally-positioned motor. Reduction gears on each axle slow drive shaft rotation for immense traction, great ground clearance, and the ability to take on tough off-road terrain. The gearbox is sealed to protect from dust and debris, and integrated into the frame; built-in differential gears provide superb traction and durability with the use of included diff putty. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension utilizes friction dampers, while a 2-piece tie rod steering setup with the servo on the left gives excellent response. Yellow wheels are fitted with 115mm diameter hybrid pin spike/lug pattern tires for superior cushioning and grip. The chassis utilizes a ‘square’ setup with similar tread and wheelbase lengths.

Our fun G6-01 chassis has seen some fun fictitious 6-wheelers and some real-life vehicle inspirations in the form of a school bus and semi-truck. This truck recreates a subject in the form of a working vehicle: Volvo’s A60 hauler. The actual vehicle is a revolutionary design, offering exceptional flexibility and mobility, as well as the sheer strength required to haul loads in quarries and other similarly gruelling workplaces.

G6-01 Chassis
The fun G6-01 chassis is based around a tough, slimline monocoque frame and offers excellent off-road performance thanks to a 6-wheel drive system. Power is provided by a motor behind the front wheels, and transmitted to front, centre and rear wheels via gears. The gearbox is sealed to protect from dust and debris and integrated into the frame; it has built-in front, centre and rear differential gears to provide smooth cornering. 6-wheel double wishbone suspension is fitted with friction dampers. A 2-piece steering tie-rod setup utilizes the servo on the left for excellent response. With suspension reassembly and a separately-sold transmitter with 4WS function and R/C equipment, the rear wheels can be made steerable.

Since the first generation model release in 1951, the Toyota Land Cruiser has been one of the most famous 4WD vehicles in the world. This R/C model assembly kit recreates the Land Cruiser 300 series announced in 2021. The polycarbonate body realistically depicts the eye-catching, dignified form with separate parts to capture the distinctive large front grille's horizontal fins and metal-plated sections. Light case and door mirror components are metal-plated, and door handles and shark fin antenna on the roof are rendered by separate parts for more realism. Tamiya continues to develop its 1/16 R/C Tank Series. The fourth full-option kit to make its appearance is the German Heavy Tank King Tiger. Not only can the model move forward and backward and turn with a great sense of power, but the turret can be rotated and the 88mm gun raised and lowered. To imitate the firing of the main gun and of front machinegun, light flashes while sound is heard. The sound of the engine has been recorded, with the assistance of the French museum of Saumur, from a real Maybach HL230-P30 engine of the only King Tiger kept in working condition in the world. Not only all stages of engine sound (idling through full throttle) but also all the metallic clanking of the tank tracks have been thoroughly recorded.

Zimmerit coating, realistic and easy to apply
During the second half of WWII, Zimmerit coating was applied on German tanks to protect them from the threat of magnetic mines. For this kit, the Zimmerit coating has been replicated with unique relief printed stickers. Thanks to these stickers, you can now represent accurately a late war King Tiger with great ease.

About the German King Tiger (Henschel Turret)
The German Heavy Tank King Tiger made its appearance during WWII in 1944. The chassis front armour was 150mm thick with 80mm thick side armor and powered by a 700hp Maybach HL230-P30 engine. The Henschel and Porsche companies came up with rival turret prototypes. The first fifty tanks produced had Porsche turret whereas subsequent tanks were equipped with the Henschel designed production turret that featured many improvements over the first model. The King Tiger was armed with a 71-caliber 88mm gun that had enough power to pierce 150mm thick armour from 2,000m away. Between the beginning of production in Summer 1944 and March 1945, 440 units were completed. Due to the havoc wreaked by the King Tiger during the final German offensive on the Ardennes front in December of 1944, the Allied forces that moved in on Berlin would fear the King Tiger up until the very last day of the war.

Realistic Engine Sounds
Besides using electric motor starter in general conditions, the King Tiger's engine was started using a crank starter on cold days to save batteries power. This model realistically replicates both of these procedures. When switching on transmitter first, the crank starting sound is heard, but when you switch on the receiver first, electric motor starting sound is heard. You can now feel like you are part of the tank crew as you decide which procedure to follow based on temperature conditions.

The only King Tiger kept in working condition is displayed in the Musee des Blindes in Saumur, France. In order to record the actual Maybach engine sound, Tamiya's staff crossed half of the planet to come to Saumur. Not only all stages of engine sound from idling through full throttle, but also all the metallic clanking of the tank tracks as well as the crank starting sound and the electric motor starting sound have been thoroughly recorded. Hearing the 700hp Maybach V12 engine sound when running your King Tiger will provide you with an even more striking feel of realism.
